I got 28% into this but just lost interest. The story itself is a fascinating one but I got bogged down in detail, background info and statistics. I also never fully felt 'in the skin' of the characters which stunted my emotional response.
Still, it deserves at least
the three stars I gave it for thorough research and personal family
history that the author was willing to share with us.
